Merry Christmas GBC Family!

I can hardly believe that Christmas is almost here. Soon, the Sanctuary will be

decorated by our awesome Flower Committee . . . I can hardly wait. Christmas music is

already playing in my office.

There are lots of great things happening at GBC this month:

  • The Children's Christmas Program will be on Sunday, December 7th .
  • The Praise Choir Cantata is on Sunday, December 14th.
  • The Live Nativity and Peace Light will take place on Saturday, December 20th at 7 PM.
  • Our Community Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held on December 24th at 7PM.

All of these events are great opportunities to invite friends, neighbors, and family to visit

with us. People are hungry for the Spirit and want to be asked to come to church.

This year, for Advent, I have a gift for the congregation. John Piper's great Advent

Devotional, Joy to the World. If you do not get a copy at the November 30th service,

please email me and I will be sure to get a copy to you ASAP.

In Him,

Pastor Jason

CLERK'S CORNER

Excerpts from Minutes of November 12, 2025 Business Meeting:

• Motion made that Gordonsville Baptist Church accept the bid from Tyler Koneski to clean and paint

the five (5) small porches and fourteen (14) windows outside Terry Shaffer’s and Charlie Fincham’s

classrooms for $4,710.00. The money will come from Buildings and Grounds Money Market Fund.

  Motion approved.

• GBC Ministry Action Budget for 2026 was presented and approved.

• Letter from David Navarre: “To my family of Gordonsville Baptist Church, Due to the number of

decisions in my business and personal life, my shoulders have seemingly become heavy. I found it

to have been a response of duty and not calling that I accepted the role of Deacon, Sunday School

Co-Director, and Prayer Ministry Co-Leader earlier this year. I have very quickly realized that the

added stress of any leadership role is too much and after prayerful consideration, effective

immediately, I would ask that you accept my resignation from these roles. I will gladly remain a

member only of the prayer ministry, greeter ministry, and choir. Thank you. Your Brother-in-

Christ David Navarre.” Motion made to accept. Motion approved.

Want a voice in the workings of your church?

Attend the next Business Meeting on January 14, 2026 at 7 PM.
